The Met Council and University of Minnesota have reached agreement on a plan to protect sensitive U research labs from adverse impacts resulting from the Central Corridor LRT line. See news release.

The Met Council has awarded contracts for the construction of the Central Corridor LRT tracks and stations, as well as for the purchase of 31 light-rail vehicles needed to operate the new line. See news release (pdf).

Updates proposed for 2030 Transportation Policy Plan

Council approves 2011 wastewater rates

Municipal wastewater charges will increase 3.2% in 2011. The Council also approved an increase in the sewer availability charge (SAC) of $130. Wastewater rates details.

$3.9 million available in federal transportation funds to support access to jobs

The goal is to increase regional mobility and access to jobs for low-income persons, as well as improve regional mobility for people with disabilities. Two workshops are planned for organizations and transit providers applying for the Job Access and Reverse Commute (JARC) and New Freedom funds.
