These preliminary design plans show the general dimensions and location of Central Corridor light rail alignment including approximate station locations and a plan for disability access. They are provided to give municipalities and other interested parties the opportunity to review and comment on the plans.

These drawings summarize the preliminary design plans that show the general dimensions and location of Central Corridor light rail alignment including approximate station locations. They provide an at-a-glance view of the 1,200-page schematic preliminary design drawings.

 

Detailed Preliminary Design Plans

These preliminary design plans show the general dimensions and location of Central Corridor light rail alignment including approximate station locations and a plan for disability access. They are provided to give municipalities and other interested parties the opportunity to review and comment on the plans.

  • Segment 1: Downtown Minneapolis Metrodome Station to University and 30th Ave. – Trackwork, Civil Drawings and Existing Conditions (17 MB) The Segment 1 document has the technical drawings for the Central Corridor LRT alignment from the Minneapolis Metrodome Station, the West Bank Cedar Riverside area, the East Bank campus, Stadium Village, to the 29th Avenue station. The drawings include the location of the tracks, road, sidewalks, light rail stations, curbs, gutters, bus stations, traffic signals, and pedestrian crossings.   • Segment 2: University Avenue - 30th Ave. to Pascal – Trackwork, Civil Drawings and Existing Conditions (14 MB) The Segment 2 document has the technical drawings for the Central Corridor LRT alignment from the intersection of University Avenue and 30th Avenue in Minneapolis through the Prospect Park area, into St. Paul for the Westgate station area, onto Raymond Avenue station, Fairview Avenue station and the Snelling Avenue station. The drawings include the location of the tracks, road, sidewalks, light rail stations, curbs, gutters, bus stations, traffic signals and pedestrian crossings.   • Segment 3: University Avenue – Pascal to Farrington – Trackwork, Civil Drawings and Existing Conditions (11 MB) The Segment 3 document has the technical drawings for the Central Corridor LRT alignment running down the center University from Albert Street through the Midway area to Farrington Street. The drawings include the location of the tracks, road, sidewalks, light rail stations, curbs, gutters, bus stations, traffic signals and pedestrian crossings.   • Segment 4: Marion Street to Downtown St. Paul - Trackwork, Civil Drawings and Existing Conditions (19 MB) The Segment 4 document has the technical drawings for the Central Corridor LRT alignment on University Avenue from Galtier Street, through the Rice Street station and behind the State Capitol to Robert Street where the train turns south and stops at the Capitol East station. The route runs into downtown St. Paul via 12th and Cedar Streets and serves the Depot Station via 4th Street. The drawings include the location of the tracks, road, sidewalks, light rail stations, curbs, gutters, bus stations, traffic signals and pedestrian crossings.   • Segment 5: Downtown St. Paul Operations and Maintenance facility (7 MB) The Segment 5 document has the technical drawings for the access track to the Central Corridor LRT vehicle maintenance facility in the St. Paul Lowertown area. The drawings include the location of the tracks, road, sidewalks, curbs, gutters, traffic signals and pedestrian crossings.   • Corridor Wide: Station Architectural Plan Layout Drawings (1.5 MB) The Station Architectural Plan has a conceptual layout of a typical station including the placement of ticket vending machines, shelters, benches, railings, emergency call box, and detectable warning strips.   • Corridor Wide: Systems including Typical Signal Houses, Traction Power Substation, Communications (3.4 MB) This document has the conceptual drawing of some of the infrastructure that will need to be included with the project including a typical signal house, power substation, and communications equipment.
