In response to Gov. Tim Walz’s stay-at-home order, Metropolitan Council critical services continue to be available, though our facilities are closed to walk-in traffic and many staff are working remotely. All Council public meetings will be available for the public to follow remotely.

Visualizing Regional Inequities Dashboard

The Twin Cities metro continues to have an impressive social and economic profile. When these indicators are calculated by race and ethnicity, however, significant disparities surface: the Twin Cities metro continues to have the largest racial and ethnic disparities in the U.S. between White, non-Latinx residents and residents of color in employment, poverty, and homeownership rates.


The dashboard below, published in 2018, allows users to explore data for the 16-county Twin Cities metro and other large metro areas nationwide.
