Governor Tim Walz will appoint a new member to the Metropolitan Council to replace outgoing Council Member Lynnea Atlas-Ingebretson. She represented Met Council District 6, serving Crystal, Golden Valley, New Hope, St. Louis Park, and a portion of Minneapolis.
The Governor and Lieutenant Governor appointed a nominating committee to hear from the applicants and take public testimony. The nominating committee will recommend finalists. Once the Governor has chosen a replacement, he will notify the Minnesota Senate of his intention to appoint a Council Member to serve District 6.
