Local governments are invited to apply for federal transportation funding for projects designed to reduce traffic deaths and serious injuries on public roadways.

MnDOT’s Metro District is soliciting for projects that are candidates for the federal Highway Safety Improvement Program on behalf of the Met Council's Transportation Advisory Board. About $23 million is available for fiscal years 2024 and 2025. Limited federal funding may be available in 2022 and 2023 for projects that can be finished sooner.

The maximum federal award under this program is $2 million per project. A 10% minimum local match is required.
