Housing Policy Plan

In support of Thrive MSP 2040, the Council adopted a new regional Housing Policy Plan in December 2014.  More about the housing policy plan

Metro Housing & Redevelopment Authority (HRA)

The Council's Metro HRA assists low-income seniors, singles, families, and persons with disabilities to obtain decent and affordable housing in nearly 100 cities throughout the region. As a recipient of federal funding, Metro HRA is required to develop annual and 5-year Public Housing Agency (PHA) plans.  More about Metro HRA's plans for providing affordable housing.

Livable Communities

The Council’s Livable Communities program awards grants to cities to help clean up polluted sites for redevelopment, expand affordable housing opportunities and build pedestrian-friendly and transit-oriented developments.  More about housing and transit-oriented development grants.

Partnership for Regional Opportunity

The Partnership for Regional Opportunity (PRO) initiative partners with communities and neighborhoods to provide funds to increase transit-oriented development (TOD) -  housing  that is affordable and energy efficient, and close to  transit and commercial centers -  along transit corridors in the region.
