SWLRT DBE Kickoff

The Metropolitan Council and the Southwest LRT Project Office hosted a civil construction Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) kickoff at the Minnetonka Community Center on March 1, 2019. This event provided an overview of the SWLRT project, introduced key staff and shared lessons from Green Line construction.

Civil Construction Pre-Bid Meeting and DBE/Prime Contractor Meet-and-Greet

The Metropolitan Council and the Southwest LRT Project Office hosted a civil construction pre-bid meeting and a meet-and-greet event for Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) firms and potential prime contractors on November 13, 2017.

This event provided an opportunity for potential prime contractors to learn more about the civil construction contract procurement process. DBE firms were able to meet with representatives of prime contractors, who will require a wide variety of subcontracted materials and services during construction of the METRO Green Line Extension.

Franklin Operations and Maintenance Facility Modifications Pre-Bid/DBE Meet & Greet

A Pre-Bid meeting was held at the Minneapolis American Indian Center. Immediately following the Pre-Bid meeting there was a site tour of the Franklin Operations and Maintenance Facility in Minneapolis.

Civil Construction DBE/Prime Contractor Meet and Greet

The Metropolitan Council hosted a Civil Construction DBE/Prime Contractor meet-and-greet event on March 3, 2017 at the Minnetonka Community Center. Prime contracting teams conducted brief interviews with prospective Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) subcontractors and suppliers during the meet and greet. Contracting Open House, December 5, 2016

The Metropolitan Council hosted a Contracting Open House on December 5, 2016 at the Minnetonka Community Center. The event included a presentation by Metropolitan Council staff covering the project scope and timeline, the Disadvantaged Business Enterprise program, and the bidding process; the presentation was followed by a mixer that provided an opportunity for contractors to meet members of the project staff, potential prime contractors, DBE/workforce specialists, and trade association representatives.
