Near Shady Oak Lake and the border between Hopkins and Minnetonka, the proposed Shady Oak Station would provide transit access to recreational activities as well as employers and residential areas.

The proposed Shady Oak Station would be the westernmost station in Hopkins, near the border with Minnetonka.
The Shady Oak Station site is southwest of downtown Hopkins, near Shady Oak Lake.

The planned Shady Oak Station, above, will be connected to a large park-and-ride lot. Trees will be planted in the foreground to provide shade and enhance the area.

The planned Shady Oak Station includes a large park-and-ride lot. The station site, near the border of Hopkins and Minnetonka, is connected to the Minnesota River Bluffs Trail.

The Metropolitan Council created this narrated design visualization showing key elements of the METRO Green Line Extension in Minnetonka and Hopkins. The visualization shows Opus Station in Minnetonka and the Operations and Maintenance Facility and Shady Oak Station in Hopkins. It illustrates features of the light rail stations, pedestrian facilities, and how light rail will operate along with street traffic.
