This event provided an opportunity for potential prime contractors to learn more about the civil construction contract procurement process. DBE firms were able to meet with representatives of prime contractors, who will require a wide variety of subcontracted materials and services during construction of the METRO Green Line Extension.

The Metropolitan Council hosted a Civil Construction DBE/Prime Contractor meet-and-greet event on March 3, 2017 at the Minnetonka Community Center. Prime contracting teams conducted brief interviews with prospective Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) subcontractors and suppliers during the meet and greet. The Metropolitan Council’s Office of Diversity and Equal Opportunity works to promote inclusion and vendor diversity with federal transportation projects.
The Metropolitan Council hosted a Contracting Open House on December 5, 2016 at the Minnetonka Community Center. The event included a presentation by Metropolitan Council staff covering the project scope and timeline, the Disadvantaged Business Enterprise program, and the bidding process; the presentation was followed by a mixer that provided an opportunity for contractors to meet members of the project staff, potential prime contractors, DBE/workforce specialists, and trade association representatives.
