Brooklyn Park Lift Station 32 Improvements

MCES Project No. 807910

Understandably, the spread of COVID-19, also known as the coronavirus, has raised questions about the status of Metropolitan Council Environmental Services (MCES) plant and interceptor construction projects. Please note the following:

  • Construction on wastewater treatment plants and sewer interceptors will continue. The contractors are following working environment protocols (asking employees to stay home if they are sick, social distancing, etc.) as outlined by public health agencies.

  • Some project staff are working remotely while others remain on-site to ensure proper oversight of the project. Staff will stay connected through emails, conference calls, and web-based meetings to manage construction activities.

Final Construction Update - May 8, 2019.  Please see Project Updates below to track project progress.

Project Overview

Metropolitan Council Environmental Services (MCES) made improvements to Lift Station 32, located at the corner of Mississippi Lane and Brookdale Drive in Brooklyn Park. Updates were made to station structures and the odor control system to create a safer work environment for MCES employees and decrease noticeable odors emitted from the station. Lift station rehabilitation began January 2018 and completed April 2019.

Additional improvements include:

  • A larger structure around the new odor control system with a roof that will prevent snow and ice build-up
  • Concrete repair to the primary lift station building with a small section of asphalt for easier access
