This project improved an approximately 2-mile section of a regional sanitary sewer located mostly along 66th Street between Humboldt Avenue and 11th Avenue in the city of Richfield. The sewer serves the cities of Richfield and Edina, and transports wastewater to the Metropolitan Wastewater Treatment Plant in St. Paul. The sewer and treatment plant are part of the large metro-area wastewater collection and treatment system operated by Metropolitan Council Environmental Services (MCES). MCES made the improvements by installing a liner to create a new sewer inside the existing sewer, and repaired manholes as needed.
