Project Description
Metropolitan Council Environmental Services (MCES), operator of the metro-area wastewater collection and treatment system, will be making repairs on the sewer tunnel in the city of Woodbury under Woodbury Drive between Lake Road and Atlas Trail.
The sewer tunnel was originally constructed in 2002 and is 25-90 feet deep. The work will include entering existing access shafts at eight locations along Woodbury Drive. Crews will make repairs to the existing tunnel and fill open spaces with grout.

Project Schedule
Construction is anticipated to begin in January 2021 and continue through fall 2021.
Project Impacts
Most of the access shafts are along the west shoulder of Woodbury Drive. Traffic shifts and lane closures on Woodbury Drive are expected.
Trail closures on the west side of the road may be needed.
Other typical construction impacts such as noise, dust and movement of equipment and materials are anticipated. Overnight work/noise is not expected.
To minimize construction impacts, contractor equipment, materials, and work zones will be enclosed with concrete barriers and fencing around the shaft locations.
