Project Description

This lift station reconstruction project is part of the overall improvements included in the Hopkins System Improvements Project Facility Plan.

The project includes building a regional sanitary sewer lift station in the City of Hopkins. The selected lift station site is north of Oakes Park, between Lake Street and Hiawatha Avenue, approximately 600 feet west of Blake Road. This will replace the MCES lift station currently located at the northwest corner of the intersection of Blake Road. and Lake Street.

The project also includes sewer improvement work along Lake Street, between the lift station and Blake Road. A full closure of Lake Street is expected, with local access being maintained. Lake Street construction is scheduled to begin in spring 2019 and continue for approximately three months.

Construction overall began in summer 2016 and is currently anticipated to conclude with restoration activities in late summer/early fall 2019.
