Metropolitan Council Environmental Services (MCES), operator of the metro-area wastewater collection and treatment system, is replacing regional sanitary sewer pipe along Westedge Boulevard/County Road 44 between approximately Setter Circle (north of County Road 110) and Highway 7, through the cities of Mound and Minnetrista.
The original pipe was installed in 1973 and was reaching the end of its service life. The risk of pipe failure increases as the pipe nears the end of its service life, which could have greatly impacted the Lake Minnetonka area. Construction to replace approximately 15,400 feet of pipe began in spring 2018; major construction activities are expected to be completed in December 2019 and final restoration completed in 2020.
