Metropolitan Council Environmental Services (MCES), operator of the metro-area wastewater collection and treatment system, will be replacing regional sanitary sewer pipe along Westedge Blvd./County Rd. 44 between approximately Setter Circle (north of County Road 110) and Hwy. 7, through the cities of Mound and Minnetrista.
The original pipe was installed in 1973 and is reaching the end of its service life. The risk of pipe failure will increase as the pipe nears the end of its service life, which could greatly impact the Lake Minnetonka area. MCES will be surveying and completing the project design in 2017. Construction to replace the approximately 15,400 feet of pipe will begin in spring 2018, and is expected to be completed in 2020.

Construction in Lake Minnetonka Regional Park
Construction activities will be occurring in Lake Minnetonka Regional Park through fall 2018. A few things for park users to be aware of:
- Boat launch access restrictions: There will be access restrictions and short-term closures of the road to the boat launch. Notification will be posted within the park and on the project webpage to alert you to these closures. If, however, you wish to make sure there will be access to the launch you may call the project hotline (952-222-3912) to schedule a time in advance.
- Temporary trail and local road restrictions: There will be times when the trail and park road (north of the main entrance) will be closed or restricted. The park road to the south of the main entrance, to the playground, remains open but there are crews and equipment moving around the area.
The City of Minnetrista is currently reconstructing Lotus Drive starting at County Rd. 44 and working to the west. For more information please visit the city’s website at http://www.cityofminnetrista.com/construction-updates
