The METRO Green Line

The METRO Green Line is an 11-mile light rail transit (LRT) line connecting downtown Minneapolis and downtown St. Paul, Minnesota. The line runs along University Avenue for much of its length, and serves destinations including the State Capitol, St. Paul’s Midway area, and the University of Minnesota’s Minneapolis campus.

The METRO Green Line began passenger service on June 14, 2014. During planning and construction, the Green Line was known as the Central Corridor LRT Project. This website contains information on the planning and construction of the Green Line, including Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) documentation and informational videos produced by the Metropolitan Council.
