Ringing in the holidays on Northstar!

Date: Tuesday, December 12, 2017

It was the start of a new holiday tradition: the Northstar Holiday Train.

Metro Transit and BNSF partnered to provide free rides on Saturday Dec. 9, starting at the Big Lake Station and bringing customers all the way to the Union Depot in Saint Paul for the European Christmas Market.

Santa’s elves even made an appearance to help get everyone into the holiday spirit.

Speaking of holidays, we've got you covered for New Year’s Eve!

On Dec. 31, Metro Transit customers can ride free from 6 p.m. to 3 a.m. on all Metro Transit routes — buses and light rail. No fare, no coupons; simply hop on and take a seat for free. MVTA will also provide free rides.

Miller Free Rides is a community service program in partnership with Metro Transit, J.J. Taylor Distributing Company and Miller Lite.

Whether you’ll be out celebrating or you’re not interested in driving alongside those who are, riding Metro Transit is an easy, safe alternative.
