PURPOSE & OUTCOMES
The purpose of this meeting is to provide direction on work needed to address region’s issues with data collection.
Desired outcomes include:
a) Content to begin drafting a white paper that recommends how we address the data collection issues.

No update because last TAC meeting was a joint meeting with MAWSAC
1:10 ONE WATER SUMMIT UPDATE
Attendees to share what they learned at the summit
1:20 BUSINESS
1. Water Supply Planning Data Challenges – Metropolitan Council staff, DNR, MDH, Municipalities (30 min)
Presentations will examine one of the desired outcomes (metrics) from the Master Water Supply Plan to highlight the challenges related to water supply planning data collection, analysis and sharing from different points of views including agencies, practitioners and Met Council. One metric to be reviewed is that total municipal per water use will be 90 gallons or less per person per day in 2040.
2. Reflection – Committee Members (5 min)
Time will be provided for members to write down notes as they reflect on the data challenges brought up in the presentations. Members will consider the questions:
“Why is good data important for your organization and for regional water supply planning?”
“How do you define good data that you trust to make decisions.”
“What are the data issues/concerns from your organizational and regional experience?”
“What is broken?
“What could be done to improve the system for data collection, analysis and management?”
3. BREAK – (10 minutes)
4. Group Work – Committee Members (90 min)
i. Small groups – 15 minutes
1. Discuss first two questions from reflection
ii.
Large group exercise – 60 minutes
1. Content to begin drafting a white paper that recommends how we address the data collection issues
