Place matters. Families and children do better and are more successful when they live in a neighborhood where they feel safe, with good schools and access to jobs and services. A Federal Reserve research conference concluded, as have others, that “too many children grow up in violent and segregated neighborhoods and are cut off from opportunities that help kids thrive.”
Metro HRA is working to stem the tide. Our Community Choice Program is helping low-income families prosper in a new home and neighborhood, where they feel safer more supported, and better able to reach their goals.
