South Washington County should be part of regional transit equation

As a fast-growing county, we need to work together to meet the demands this growth presents.

According to the Metropolitan Council, Washington County is expected to add 100,000 residents by 2040. As a region, we need to prepare for that growth responsibly. In the 2016 Washington County Resident Survey, the lack of access to public transit was identified as the most problematic issue in the county. Employers need transit options to offer to current employees and recruit new workers.

Reflecting that cross-section of concerns, meeting transit needs has become a critical regional issue that is the focus of Washington County.
