LCA investments along rail corridors

As of July 2016, the Metropolitan Council’s Livable Communities Act (LCA) grants have invested over $78 million to assist with 117 projects that leverage regional investments in transit.

The table below summarizes these investments by transit line (select transit line to see details).

While the LCA also assists with projects that are spread throughout 94 participating metro communities, grants included here are limited to projects within the half-mile radius around transit stations along the METRO Blue and Green Lines, the Green Line Extension, and Northstar Commuter Rail. Only grants awarded since the year preliminary engineering was approved are included in these totals.

Some of the transit stations near downtown Minneapolis are shared among more than one line (Green, Blue and Northstar). To avoid duplication, projects situated within these shared station areas are included only under the Green Line. Projects situated within the half-mile buffers for more than one station are listed in the station area closest to the project site.
