Deephaven Lift Station L48 Improvements
Project Description
Metropolitan Council Environmental Services (ES), operator of the metro area wastewater collection and treatment system, has aging sanitary sewer infrastructure that needs improvement. The project will include the rehabilitation of Lift Station L48, which pumps wastewater from the neighborhood to a water resource recovery facility - replacing valves, pumps, and pipes as well as electrical and site work. The project will also include the replacement of a connected pressurized sanitary sewer pipe that carries wastewater, which was built in 1970 and is reaching the end of its service life.
The project is anticipated to start in August 2024 and be complete in 2025. Impacts to the community may include:
- Interim traffic impacts throughout construction
- Noise during construction working hours
- Resin odor from the pipe lining procedure
- Temporary water shutoffs for some residents
