All of the Council's strategic investments and services are designed to support regional economic vitality.

From Metro Transit's bus and rail system, to wastewater treatment services, regional parks, planning and affordable housing, our work supports communities and business throughout the region, and help ensure a high quality of life for residents. 
 

Council Highlights 

  • 97 million rides on regional transit system in 2014

  • 14% increase in transit ridership over 10 years

  • 54 regional parks and park reserves

  • 340 miles of regional trails

  • 48.7 million park visitors a year

  • 1000 Livable Communities Act (LCA) grants awarded totaling $310 million 

  • 250 million gallons of wastewater treated every day

  • 2.7 million residents served by wastewater system

  • $53 million in federal rental assistance administered annually through Metro HRA

  • 7,000 low-income households served every month through Metro HRA
