State Of The Region 2025

The 2025 State of the Region event will take place on Thursday, January 30 at 1:30pm at Allianz Field. The event will feature remarks from state and regional leadership, and include opportunities to socialize with regional and local leaders.

Welcome social with display tables featuring the latest work from the Met Council 

Welcome addresss: Bill McGuire, Owner, MN United

Keynote address: Charlie Zelle, Met Council Chair
 

Panel discussion

  • Facilitator: Ryan O'Connor--Met Council, Regional Administrator
  • Panelist: Dr. Kate Beane--Executive Director, Minnesota Museum of American Art, and adjunct faculty in American Indian Studies at the University of Minnesota
  • Panelist: Bill McGuire--Owner, MN United
  • Panelist: Alene Tchourumoff--Senior Vice President, Community Development and Engagement, Federal Reserve Bank of Minneapolis
  • (Invited) Panelist: Melvin Carter, Mayor, St. Paul, MN

Transportation Topic: Serving the region by building and maintaining a world class transportations system. What is needed to make this a sustainable asset for the entire state.

  • Charles Carlson--Executive Director, Metropolitan Transportation Services.

Environment Topic: Climate action for a better region. Protecting and restoring natural systems to ensure a high quality of life for the people of our region.

  • Sam Paske--Assistant General Manager, Environmental Services. 

Community Development Topic: What's next for Imagine 2050? A robust discussion on moving from visioning to local implementation

The Snelling-University area is serviced by both the Green Line light rail and the A Line bus rapid transit systems, as well as many other city bus lines. Allianz Field also features dedicated areas for app-based ride-sharing, as well as 400 bike parking spots.

Transit

Allianz Field is located near easily-accessible Metro Transit options, making it economic and efficient to get to the stadium from locations across the Twin Cities.

  • By train: The Green Line Light Rail has a stop just outside the stadium.
  • By bus: Metro Transit A Line services and local bus routes allow transportation options most of the day for commuters along the University and Snelling routes.

Highways

Two major interstate highway systems serve the Saint Paul area: I-94 runs east and west — including right in front of Allianz Field — and I-35 runs north and south. The Minneapolis-Saint Paul area also has two belt-line freeways, I-494 and I-694, which facilitate travel in and around the first and second-ring suburbs.

Parking

Four parking ramps in downtown Saint Paul available within walking distance of transit lines with direct routes to Allianz Field. The city's Smith, 7A, Lowertown, and Block 19 parking ramps are all available to the public.

Biking

Allianz Field is a bike-friendly stadium, with 400 bike parking spots available on-site. 

  • From the North: Cyclists traveling north and south are encouraged to use the Pascal Street bike lanes.
  • From the East: Cyclists traveling to or from the east are also encouraged to utilize Pascal to connect to bike facilities along Charles Avenue or Marshall Avenue.
  • From the West: Cyclists traveling to or from the west are encouraged to utilize the bikeway on St. Anthony Avenue.
