The Council’s employees are key to our agency’s success.  In order to attract and retain high quality employees, the Council provides a highly competitive benefits package.  Our robust offerings include:

  • A public pension plan that provides a guaranteed monthly retirement income for life. 

  • An opportunity to save additional funds for retirement through the voluntary deferred compensation plan (457 Plan).

  • A choice of two or more medical plans with unique plan design features and employer contribution towards premiums at 80% or more.

  • Dental insurance, life insurance, and voluntary vision coverage for yourself and your family members.

  • Most unions have a pre-tax payroll contribution to a Health Care Savings Plan that allows employees to pay for certain unreimbursed health care expenses after leaving Council employment.
