Livable Communities grant programs
Cities and townships that participate in the Livable Communities Act program are eligible for funding to clean up polluted sites for redevelopment, create affordable housing, and link different land uses with transportation. The program is voluntary and provides incentives that leverage partnerships and resources to help communities achieve their regional and local goals. More about the Livable Communities program.
The Metro HRA administers rent assistance programs serving more than 6,700 households. The programs are primarily federally funded, the largest being the Section 8 program. The Council’s Metro HRA uses the federal Section 8 Housing Choice program to provide vouchers to eligible households, who pay a percentage of their incomes for rent, with Metro HRA paying the remainder within established fair-market rent guidelines.
