When it opens late next year, the METRO Orange Line bus rapid transit will provide frequent, all-day service between Minneapolis, Richfield, Bloomington, and Burnsville along I-35W.

Data is from nearly 8,000 households, over a year’s time and across 19 counties — the seven-county metro area and 12 neighboring Minnesota and Wisconsin counties.

While overall, local and commuter express bus ridership has gone down, there are highlights where spot investments to improve access, speed or reliability have boosted ridership.

The Met Council is considering expanding travel options for Metro Mobility customers to include ride-hail services as an alternative to Metro Mobility’s current Premium on Demand taxi service.
