Independent Review Reports
The Office of the Legislative Auditor has released two reports capturing the findings of a special, independent review of the METRO Green Line Extension project, currently under construction between Eden Prairie and downtown Minneapolis. The project will also directly serve the cities of Minnetonka, Hopkins, and St. Louis Park.
MNDOT peer review
The Minnesota Department of Transportation (MnDOT) conducted a peer review of the project, pursuant to a June 2022 Memorandum of Understanding between MnDOT and Metropolitan Council, the project owner. This peer review provides recommendations to improve the project outcomes and improve future transit guideway projects that are planned in the Twin Cities metro area.
The peer review addressed construction methods, change order process, contractor oversight, project organization, procurement process, and specifications on the civil construction contract only; MnDOT did not review any other contracts to construct the project. In accordance with the MOU, this review is not an all- encompassing audit.
