The U.S. Department of Transportation recently issued new requirements that affect how we administer our federal regulations governing our Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) program. To maintain federal compliance, Metropolitan Council is updating policies for:
  • Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) program
  • Metropolitan Council Underutilized Business Program (MCUB)
  • Procurement and contracting procedures
Read the detailed policy letter to learn how these changes may impact your business or department.

Contracts & Procurement

The Council frequently lists contracting opportunities for businesses. Interested parties are encouraged to regularly review the Council's list of publicly advertised solicitations for contracts.

Small Business Programs

The Council participates in two small business programs:

New subcontracting policy and procedure

The Met Council recently updated the DBE/MCUB Subcontracting Policy and Procedure. Among other enhancements, the procedure change now requires bidders/proposers to submit DBE/MCUB documents at the time of bid. This will likely be a change in business practice and process for many of our bidders and proposers. Contact the Office of Equal Opportunity at [email protected] or 651-602-1163 if you have any questions regarding the new policy or procedure.
