Capital Program & Projects
District 1 includes, in Hennepin County, the cities of Corcoran, Dayton, Greenfield, Independence, Loretto, Maple Grove, Maple Plain, Medicine Lake, Medina, Plymouth, and Rogers. Excluded are the Hennepin County portions of the cities of Hanover and Rockford.
Regional Plant Improvements: Program 8078
This program provides funding to address capital improvements at 8 regional wastewater treatment plants (WWTPs).
Maple Plain Area Improvements: Program 8081
This program will provide short term improvements that are required to the existing system to convey flow from Loretto to MCES lift station L-63 while the City of Loretto constructs a new lift station and 6-inch forcemain at their existing wastewater treatment facility (WWTF) to convey all future flows to lift station L-63. Other improvements under this program include new billing meters to measure flow from Loretto, possible upgrades to Independence and Medina lift stations, New 20-inch gravity sewer along County Rd 19, increase pump impellers at lift station L-63, and construction of a new storage facility at lift station L-63.
North Area Interceptor (NAI) Rehabilitation: Program 8086
The interceptor systems in Blaine, Brooklyn Park, Champlin, Circle Pines, Coon Rapids, Forest Lake Fridley, Hugo, Lexington, Lino Lakes, Maple Grove, Moundsview, Spring Lake Park, and other north area communities need rehabilitation and/or replacement. The project will rehabilitate existing interceptor facilities, including gravity sewers, forcemains, lift stations and meter stations.
Wastewater Reclamation Facilities: Program 8091
This program provides funding for planning activities needed to support the Council’s overall wastewater reuse initiative.
Northwest Area Interceptor Improvements: Program 8096
The interceptor systems in Plymouth, Maple Grove, Brooklyn Center, New Hope, Golden Valley, St Louis Park, Medina, and other northwest area communities need rehabilitation and/or replacement as well as expansion to serve growth. The Program will rehabilitate existing interceptor facilities, including gravity sewers, force mains, lift stations and meter stations, and analyze the system needs to accommodate growth.
In addition to the major projects, there will be interceptor rehabilitation, lift stations, and meter improvement projects located in the district.
