District 2

Capital Program & Projects

District 2 includes, in Anoka County, the cities of Columbia Heights, Fridley, Hilltop, and Spring Lake Park and in Hennepin County, the cities of Brooklyn Center, Brooklyn Park, Champlin, and Osseo. Excluded is the Ramsey County portion of the city of Spring Lake Park.

North Area Interceptor Rehabilitation: Program 8086

The interceptor systems in Blaine, Brooklyn Park, Champlin, Circle Pines, Coon Rapids, Forest Lake Fridley, Hugo, Lexington, Lino Lakes, Maple Grove, Moundsview, Spring Lake Park, and other north area communities need rehabilitation and/or replacement. The project will rehabilitate existing interceptor facilities, including gravity sewers, forcemains, lift stations and meter stations.

Minneapolis Interceptor System Rehabilitation - Phase 2: Program 8092

This program includes facility planning and new projects to address aging infrastructure within or contributary to the City of Minneapolis. Potential projects include Interceptor 1-MN-340 Capacity Relief Study and Interceptor 1-MN-320 Replacement.

Brooklyn Park-Champlin Interceptor Renewal: Program 8093

This Program provides for the rehabilitation concrete gravity interceptor in the Cities of Champlin, Brooklyn Park and Osseo. The interceptor will be rehabilitated using Cured-In-Place-Pipe (CIPP) technology.

Brooklyn Park L32: Program 8094

This Program provides the construction of a new L32 on the east side of the Mississippi River on Council property. Program will determine facilities which will remain on the west side of the river at the existing L32 site.

Northwest Area Interceptor Improvements: Program 8096

The interceptor systems in Plymouth, Maple Grove, Brooklyn Center, New Hope, Golden Valley, St Louis Park, Medina, and other northwest area communities need rehabilitation and/or replacement as well as expansion to serve growth. The Program will rehabilitate existing interceptor facilities, including gravity sewers, force mains, lift stations and meter stations, and analyze the system needs to accommodate growth. 


In addition to the major projects, there will be interceptor rehabilitation, lift stations, and meter improvement projects located in the district.
