Committee of the Whole

The Committee of the Whole addresses regional policy issues and provides a forum for Council member discussion. All action is taken at the Met Council's regular business meetings.

All Metropolitan Council members are members of the Committee of the Whole.

Committee of the Whole travels to Chaska

On Wednesday, June 18, the Committee of the Whole is going on the road to the Chaska Event Center in District 4. The event will showcase innovative partnerships and measurable community impacts within District 4’s cities, townships, and counties in the southwest metro.

Speakers include District 4 Met Council Member Deb Barber and:

• Taylor Hubbard, Mayor of Chaska and Mark Windschitl, Former Mayor of Chaska
• Courtney Johnson, Mayor of Carver; Bill Wermerskirchen, Shakopee Business Owner; Bill Rudnicki, Executive Director Shakopee Mdewakanton Sioux Community

The event will be moderated by Tane Danger and include a district trivia quiz. This is a unique chance to see regional governance in action locally and understand the projects and policies that shape our region.

An open house at 4:30 p.m. will be followed by the 5 p.m. meeting featuring the community partnership showcase. The Chaska Event Center is located at 3210 Chaska Boulevard in Chaska. All are welcome.

Meetings

The Committee of the Whole meets the first and third Wednesdays of each month as needed at 4:00 p.m.
