Metropolitan Council Member, District 6
Lynnea Atlas-Ingebretson was appointed to the Metropolitan Council by Gov. Tim Walz in March 2019. Atlas-Ingebretson lives in Golden Valley and represents District 6, which includes the cities of Crystal, Golden Valley, New Hope, St. Louis Park, and a portion of Minneapolis.
She is Chief of Staff for Juxtaposition Arts, a social-enterprise business in North Minneapolis driven to help young artists enter the creative workforce. She is also Principal at Imagine Deliver, a management consulting practice based in Saint Paul.
Atlas-Ingebretson served as a founding member of the State of Minnesota Parks and Trails Legacy Advisory Committee and as its inaugural chair for two years. Previously she has served as Director of Family and Partnerships for Minneapolis Public Schools and Director of Programs for the Charities Review Council.
“I am committed to serving as a steward of our regional natural resources, an advocate for responsible management of water resources, and a champion for equitable access and opportunities in transportation and development,” Atlas-Ingebretson said.
“Addressing equity as a park issue is vitally important. It’s critical that we keep our regional parks system accessible and thriving with expanded opportunities for historically excluded members of our community. It’s my experience and belief that we cannot be a whole people or community without quality and convenient relationships with nature and open spaces.”
Atlas-Ingebretson received her bachelor’s degree in nonprofit administration and multicultural communication from Metropolitan State University of Denver.
