Biography
Dr. Tyronne E. Carter’s work on the Met Council is focused on listening to and representing the perspectives of disadvantaged groups who otherwise would not have a seat at the table. Carter is particularly interested in building shared prosperity through transportation and housing equity for BIPOC communities. He strives to be open and inclusive, embodying the principles of “servant leadership” in his work.
Carter has more than 20 years of experience in STEM education, training, and development, currently as the CEO and director of marketing and curriculum design for America’s Fun Science. He’s worked as diversity program director for MnDOT Metro, served as a member of the Diversity Action Council, and developed legislative proposals and conducted studies having statewide impact and scope. He was a member of the Minnetonka Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Task Force. He is a current member of the Minneapolis NAACP and the Rotary Club of Minnetonka.
