Previous Plans
Plans published March 2024
Since the route recommendation in September 2023, project staff have advanced engineering and design of the route and stations to 30% design as of March 2024. These plans show the location of the alignment, station locations, and general access changes. Final designs and station locations will be refined based on community feedback and will be updated to include more details on bicycle, pedestrian, and landscape accommodations. This material is conceptual and intended to provide a frame of reference for community members to see how light rail could fit in their neighborhood.

Plans published between 2021 – 2023
The METRO Blue Line Extension began seeking feedback in March 2021 on revised routes that did not use freight rail property as previously planned from the January 2018 plans. From 2021-2023, project staff sought public feedback on the new 63rd Street Station in Brooklyn Park, new stations and alignment in Crystal and Robbinsdale along Bottineau Blvd (County Road 81), and several route and station options between Target Field and West Broadway in Minneapolis. The visualizations and rollplots below showed the progress of these designs during these periods.
Plans prior to August 2020
The plans below, published in January 2018, represent approximately 90% design for the METRO Blue Line Extension project's previous alignment.
